Tim Hortons may be a Canadian icon, but when it comes to plant-based options, the menu is lacking. Vegans, and even vegetarians won’t find any full meal choices here, which can be disappointing compared to other fast-food chains that have incorporated more complete plant-based items into their menu.

Tim Hortons has experimented with vegan options in the past. They launched Beyond Meat breakfast sandwiches and a burger in 2019, but those items were quietly discontinued in 2020 due to low demand. By March 2022, they tried again by partnering with Impossible Foods to add the Impossible Sausage to a few of their breakfast sandwiches and wraps. Unfortunately, these still came with egg, cheese, and sauce by default, meaning they weren’t vegan-friendly unless you heavily customized your order.

That said, Tim Hortons does have a few vegan menu items and, importantly, several non-dairy milk options for your coffee or tea. Below, we’ll walk through exactly what’s vegan at Tim Hortons in Canada in 2025, and what you should know before ordering.

Vegan-Friendly Menu Items at Tim Hortons

Here’s what you can order at Tim’s right now:

Hash Browns

A simple, crispy treat made largely from potatoes and canola oil. A reliable go-to for vegan breakfast lovers.

Bagels

Most Tim Hortons bagels are vegan. Options like 12-Grain, Plain, Everything, Blueberry, Cinnamon Raisin, and Sesame are all on the list. Just verify any changes with your location.

Bagel Toppings

While Tim Hortons unfortunately doesn’t offer a plant-based cream cheese, you can top your bagel with Strawberry Jam and/or Peanut Butter.

Coffee & Tea with Plant-Based Milk)

All standard hot or iced coffee and tea options, from drip coffee to lattes, can be made vegan by opting for soy, almond, or oat milk. As of 2025, there is no extra charge for swapping out dairy.

Iced Capp with Plant-Based Milk

Many people don’t realize that the classic Tim Hortons Iced Capp can easily be made vegan by simply opting for a plant-based milk option. And of course, make sure to ask for no whipped cream on top. The only downside is that it won’t be as creamy as the traditional cream-based version.

Vegan Flavour Syrups

Flavour your drink! Chocolate and vanilla syrups are vegan-friendly. Once again, always check per location.
